Hsinchu, Taiwan, October 8, 2026 — The 2026 winners list for CommonWealth Magazine’s Excellence in Corporate Social Responsibility Award, one of the most prestigious sustainability awards in Taiwan, has been announced. WNC Corporation (WNC) was selected to this list for the third straight year, ranking 14th in the Large Enterprises – Manufacturing Sector category and once again winning the Talent Sustainability Award. The Excellence in Corporate Social Responsibility Award, held by CommonWealth Magazine since 1996, evaluates companies’ performance in sustainability across four dimensions: corporate governance, corporate commitment, social participation and environmental sustainability. WNC’s scores in the corporate commitment and social participation dimensions showed significant improvement compared to the previous year, a testament to its ongoing efforts in sustainable governance and social care.

A key focus of this year’s evaluation was how companies leverage AI to drive sustainability and strengthen corporate resilience and competitiveness. WNC has integrated responsible AI into its core corporate governance principles and established guidelines on managing AI systems. In accordance with these guidelines, WNC has implemented tiered reviews for the selection and development of AI tools while prioritizing data security and privacy protection. The company also conducts tiered management of personal and sensitive information, exerts strict control over external data access, and combines encryption, firewalls and vulnerability scanning to build a comprehensive information security mechanism.

WNC has also built an enterprise-grade AI platform that integrates AI chat, knowledge bases, data analytics, and intelligent AI agents. By enabling employees to develop their own AI applications, the platform lowers barriers to AI use and fosters cross-unit collaboration, fulfilling the company’s commitment to empowering talent with AI to drive future development. Furthermore, the company has implemented human rights due diligence across the organization this year and introduced measures such as adjusting job duties for older employees as well as provision of phased retirement arrangements and flexible re-employment programs for retired employees. These efforts earned WNC a perfect score in the diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) aspect.

For social participation, WNC follows the philosophy of creating mutual benefit for all generations and helping the underprivileged. The company leverages technology to promote digital equality and intergenerational integration while bringing together initiatives in education, ecological conservation, visual art creation and companionship for older adults, working with partners from various sectors to expand its positive impact. In recent years, WNC has continued to organize specialized education courses covering items such as archery and dance for schoolchildren in rural areas. The Siang Bi Elementary School archery team, which is sponsored by WNC, has won a total of 169 awards in 37 domestic competitions and also won 11 awards in international competitions. The company is also working to protect biodiversity through reforestation projects, building nest boxes for collared scops owls, and conducting ecological monitoring. In addition, WNC works with partners to advance environmental education and music therapy programs for older adults, bringing educational materials, ecological data and interactive technologies to more schools and communities. These efforts have transformed the company’s work in social care from individual initiatives into long-term, collaborative efforts that benefited 1,621 participants across 21 schools and non-profit organizations in 2025.

In the environmental sustainability dimension, WNC received full marks in the aspects of greenhouse gas management and related actions, improvement measures, nature positive initiatives and sustainable procurement. In addition to aligning with international standards and publishing its TCFD & TNFD Report in accordance with the TNFD recommendations, WNC established emissions reduction targets across all scopes in accordance with SBTi criteria and achieved its targets for 2025. The proportion of electricity sourced from renewable energy also increased in 2025 compared with the previous year. WNC has also implemented an internal carbon pricing mechanism, incorporating carbon costs into its management and procurement decision-making processes. The company has extended this mechanism to its supply chain, working hand in hand with value chain partners to optimize resource utilization and environmental performance. As part of its environmental management and carbon reduction efforts, WNC has established smart energy platforms at all of its sites to improve energy governance and electrical safety as well as support the company's net-zero transition. Looking ahead, WNC will continue to address environmental and social challenges through resilient governance and action, creating long-term, meaningful impact.
