Hsinchu, Taiwan, February 23, 2024 — Wistron NeWeb Corp. (WNC) is proud to announce its recognition in the Top 1% category for the communications equipment industry in S&P Global’s Sustainability Yearbook 2024. The company’s exceptional overall score in fact won it first place in the industry as a whole, an outstanding achievement.

Investors in capital markets around the globe closely follow S&P Global’s Sustainability Yearbook to gauge the sustainability performance of different companies. At the beginning of each year, S&P Global announces companies whose sustainability performance ranks in the top 10% based on the results of their corporate sustainability assessment (CSA) from the previous year. In 2023, over 9,400 companies across 62 industries worldwide participated in the assessment but only 759 companies earned a place in the Sustainability Yearbook 2024. In the communications equipment industry, in which WNC is classified, 63 companies were invited to participate in the CSA, from which only four were selected for inclusion in the Yearbook.

WNC has incorporated ESG measures in its business operations and decision making processes and discloses information related to sustainability in line with international initiatives and sustainability reporting standards. In regard to climate change issues, WNC publicly supports the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) initiatives and has submitted a 2050 net-zero target to SBTi (Science Based Targets initiative). WNC is also the first network communications company in Taiwan to join RE100, pledging to use 100% renewable energy across the Group by 2040. We continue to optimize energy efficiency at all WNC’s sites, promote green product design, and implement projects that preserve biodiversity. On the social front, while committed to building an inclusive and diverse work environment, WNC also works with elementary schools in rural areas to develop learning programs and child sponsorship programs that meet the needs of children in such areas. Apart from these endeavors, WNC also organizes campaigns to support social enterprises, NGOs and local smallholders. With regard to corporate governance, WNC continues to enhance its corporate governance quality by complying with requirements and suggestions from the competent authorities. We have also formulated related mechanisms and measures to perfect our sustainable supply chain management. Our first sustainable supply chain conference was convened last year.

As a leading provider of communications solutions, WNC remains dedicated to improve its performance across all ESG aspects and join hands with stakeholders to extend a positive influence on society. In addition to achieving sustainability in its business operations, WNC is committed to aligning with global trends and contributing to the creation of a more sustainable world.
