WNC Selected in Financial Times' Asia-Pacific Climate Leaders 2025 List

Hsinchu, June 23, 2025 — In collaboration with Statista, an international research and consulting organization, the Financial Times has announced its list of Asia-Pacific Climate Leaders 2025. Among more than 1,500 companies assessed across the Asia-Pacific region, WNC distinguished itself with its carbon reduction performance and was included in the 350 representative companies recognized for outstanding climate action. In the technology and electronics category, WNC was ranked 38, underscoring its commitment to sustainability.

For the fourth time, the Financial Times compiled its Asia-Pacific Climate Leaders list, honoring companies that have significantly reduced their GHG emissions intensity. To be selected, companies must have achieved a compound annual reduction rate (CARR) of more than 3% of Scope 1 and 2 emissions between 2018 and 2023. Additional selection criteria include the disclosure of Scope 3 emissions, CDP ratings, participation in the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) and revenue.

WNC aligns with global climate initiatives by adopting the financial disclosure frameworks of the TCFD and TNFD. We will soon publish our first TNFD, and third TCFD reports to document our increased understanding and management of climate risks, biodiversity and natural capital. Our performance in international ratings continues to improve. WNC achieved an A- (Leadership level) rating in CDP’s climate change and water security questionnaires, and has placed in the top 1% in S&P Global’s Sustainability Yearbook for two consecutive years. In addition, we have passed an SBTi review, committing to reducing absolute Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 42% (base year: 2022) and Scope 3 emissions by 25% (base year: 2023) by 2030, and to achieving net zero by 2050. Within the company, WNC has implemented a carbon management system to improve the efficiency of GHG inventories across all sites and the calculation of product carbon footprints.

WNC's President and CEO, Jeffrey Gau, noted, “WNC continues to expand the scope of its sustainability management and carbon reduction measures, and to enhance green product design and sustainable supply chain management capabilities to facilitate a low-carbon transition. We are devoted to improving information transparency, allowing stakeholders to better understand our commitment to sustainability.” He added that WNC is fully committed to advancing sustainability along with business growth in the face of the challenges brought about by climate change.
