Hsinchu, Taiwan, April 8, 2024 — WNC (Wistron NeWeb Corporation), a leading provider of communications solutions, announced today a definitive agreement, concluded on April 4, with Resideo Technologies, Inc., through its subsidiaries, for the acquisition of Resideo Manufacturas de Chihuahua, S. de R.L. de C.V., including the operations and employees of its manufacturing facility located in Juarez, Mexico. The transaction is part of WNC's strategy to enhance global manufacturing capabilities, streamline its supply chain, and reduce response time to ever-changing customer demands.

Resideo is a publicly traded US company that primarily focuses on products and components that provide critical comfort, energy management, and safety and security solutions. The company's factory in Juarez, Mexico is located very near the city of El Paso, Texas, just across the US-Mexico border and employs about 850 individuals.

The acquisition of Resideo's factory in Juarez marks a significant expansion of WNC's global manufacturing capacity, helping the company expand its core product lines and ensuring its continued growth and resilience in the dynamic global supply chain landscape. By utilizing the factory's advanced equipment and strategic geographical location, WNC will be able to expand its addressable market, offer optimized production processes and shorter product delivery times, as well as achieve greater flexibility through nearshoring.

"This acquisition is a significant milestone for WNC in the strengthening of our global manufacturing capabilities,” said Jeffrey Gau, President and CEO of WNC. “Through the acquisition of Resideo's Juarez factory, we not only expand in scale but also reinforce our commitment to providing excellent services globally to our customers."

President Gau added that the manufacturing facility will continue to produce Resideo's home security and comfort products after the acquisition, and that WNC is looking to bring in additional automotive, IoT and broadband products to expand the production scale of the site and in turn enhance WNC's service quality and operational resilience.
