Clean Water, Brighter Futures: WNC Funds Rural Well Project for 347 Children in Vietnam

Hsinchu, Taiwan, August 6, 2026 — Neweb Vietnam, the Vietnam site of WNC Corporation (WNC), has partnered with the Vietnam Children's Protection Fund to sponsor a clean water project at the Chien Pho Ethnic Semi-Boarding Secondary School (Trường PTDTBT THCS Chiến Phố). With a donation of approximately VND80 million, WNC funded the construction of a water well and the installation of a water purifier, enabling 347 children to access a stable and safe water supply. By enhancing educational resources and living environments in rural areas, WNC is dedicated to fostering sustainable local community development.

Located in a mountainous region of northern Vietnam, the school sits 180 kilometers away from the center of Tuyên Quang Province. Due to its remote location and a lack of clean water infrastructure, securing safe drinking water has long been a challenge for both students and teachers. Among the 347 students at the school, 228 are boarders, all of whom belong to the Lo Lo and Hmong ethnic minorities. For a long period of time, the school relied on mountain spring water for its drinking and domestic needs. However, during the rainy season, landslides washed down mud, leaves, and debris, clogging the supply pipes. This interrupted water supply and compromised water safety.

To enhance the local living and learning environments, WNC has fully sponsored the construction of a clean water well and the installation of a water purification system. This enables students and teachers to access safe water for drinking and food preparation, and to maintain good hygiene. In addition, this initiative helps mitigate health risks associated with waterborne diseases, safeguarding the children’s healthy growth by providing sustainable infrastructure on campus.

Chief Sustainability Officer Molly Lin said, “Clean water is a cornerstone that enables children to grow up healthy and thrive in their learning. We aim to direct resources to where they are most needed, ensuring that each of our initiatives drive lasting, positive change within local communities.” By leveraging resources across its global sites, WNC is dedicated to supporting education and community well-being. Moving forward, the company will continue to collaborate with local partners to address community needs, promote equal opportunities, and improve living standards to create a sustainable future.
