WNC Unveils 5G Private Network Solutions, High-performance Eco-friendly CPE Solutions and Innovative Software at MWC 2024

Hsinchu, Taiwan, February 21, 2024 — Wistron NeWeb Corp. (WNC), a leading provider of communications solutions, is set to showcase a number of advanced communications products at MWC 2024, including enterprise networking, home networking and automotive products. Among these, 5G private network solutions, environmentally-friendly CPE solutions and innovative software will be in the spotlight.

5G private network solutions
WNC’s 5G private network solutions include an open RAN product family and a newly launched all-in-one small cell. WNC’s 5G open RAN product family consists of FPGA-based indoor/outdoor radio units (RU), SmartNIC, slim servers and system management software. Customers can pick from the aforementioned products to build network solutions that best fit their needs. The all-in-one small cell is equipped with 4T4R MIMO antennas and the total RF output power in the 5G Sub-6 GHz bands can reach up to 12 watts. In addition, this small cell adopts GaN, an energy-efficient semiconductor material, to reduce total power consumption and boasts functions such as high-precision time synchronization, zero touch provisioning, and remote firmware updates. These features enable fast and trouble-free network implementation. The carrier-grade cell is well-suited for deployment in smart cities, smart factories, and subway stations.

High-performance eco-friendly CPE solutions
WNC’s new 5G CPE comes with both router and mesh network modes. Its unique antenna design provides high isolation and achieves more than 70% Wi-Fi antenna efficiency, ensuring fast network speeds and wide coverage. The CPE utilizes cutting-edge 4K QAM and MLO technologies, allowing users to enjoy high speed, low latency and interference-free connectivity for live streaming, online gaming and video conferencing. All of WNC’s home network products, including routers, extenders, CPEs, DOCSIS 4.0 and XGS-PON gateways, support 10G WAN and 10G LAN/WLAN, feature energy-saving designs , and adopt up to 95% PCR plastics in housings (with the latest 5G CPE having up to 100% PCR). This shows our commitment to green design and environmental protection, offering customers more environmentally-friendly products.

AI-powered software services
WNC has rolled out a new wireless sensing system and the latest SmartQoS. The wireless sensing system can be used to safeguard personal safety and health through applications in areas such as home security, health monitoring, sleep quality measurement, fall detection, and in-cabin child presence detection. WNC’s SmartQoS uses AI and dynamically allocates bandwidth to ensure the smooth running of high priority applications.
To give an example of a use case for WNC’s latest SmartQoS, an issue many people face is that transmission speeds on 4G/5G wireless networks can fluctuate due to factors such as weather, obstacles, or interference from other connected devices, negatively impacting the user experience. Our SmartQoS, which can be deployed on both wired and wireless networks, addresses this pain point by leveraging AI to automatically adjust and allocate bandwidth based on the applications currently being run, changes in bandwidth, and the priority of each application. This allows users to enjoy smooth internet connections on both WAN and LAN.

Open source software integration and value-added services
WNC offers highly customizable products utilizing open operating systems and open platforms, including OpenWRT, Android TV, Matter, OpenSync, prpl, and RDK. With the ability to integrate different open source software in communications equipment per customer needs, WNC helps customers reduce time-to-market while satisfying the needs of end users and carriers alike. Based on this, WNC also provides value-added services through incorporating support for Matter over Wi-Fi/Thread, TR-181, 5G slicing, and thermal and power management in software. In addition, WNC is a pioneer in the development of software that supports EasyMesh R5 and is now actively engaged in the development of R6 software.
