A Word from the CSO

Sustainability transitions are a challenge that evolve over time, but WNC has chosen to proactively face the challenge. The goal is to achieve shared prosperity across the supply chain and create a better future for society.

In the face of climate change and global supply chain restructuring, WNC is deeply committed to sustainability, laying a solid foundation for corporate resilience. The company has integrated the UN SDGs into its business operations and is systematically implementing sustainability strategies across all divisions under the supervision of the BOD. 2025 marked a milestone year for WNC’s digital carbon management. To put a price on and visualize carbon emissions, the company has established a comprehensive ESG information infrastructure. This includes a green product design platform, along with the implementation of Green BOM and LCA tools. Furthermore, WNC has aligned its business operations with international initiatives and standards, having its emissions reduction targets validated by the SBTi. The company is committed to reducing Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 42% by 2030 (base year: 2022), and Scope 3 emissions by 25% (base year: 2023), steadily paving the way to net zero by 2050. With regard to energy use, WNC’s VN, S3 and S1 sites achieved a platinum rating in UL 2799’s Zero Waste to Landfill validation program. In addition, the company received Leadership-level “A” ratings in both the Climate Change and Water Security questionnaires conducted by CDP. WNC has also expanded solar panels installations across all manufacturing sites, achieving a 34% renewable energy coverage rate considerably better than the original target of 25%.

WNC has a long-standing commitment to supporting children, the environment, smallholder farmers, and seniors. Our initiatives have expanded from Taiwan to Vietnam and Mexico, working with employees, NPOs, and schools to create shared value. WNC hosts the WNC Classroom to support rural education. In addition, it has partnered with the Chi Po-lin Foundation for the past four years to organize an Environmental Photography Camp, encouraging children to connect with nature. In Vietnam, WNC has launched a program to support a local childcare facility. In addition, the company does regular maintenance work at the WNC Forest Park. The company has implemented an ecological monitoring mechanism and established a biological database to safeguard the area’s biodiversity. Furthermore, its employees volunteer their time to enhance the quality of life for the elderly in various communities. WNC is also fully committed to supporting smallholder farmers. In addition to sponsoring organic crops and assisting farmers with sales, the company regularly brings together employees and their families to volunteer on farms. Internally, WNC has launched a Good Food Movement. Its employee cafeterias earned two stars in the "Food Made Good" program, and received an Organic & Eco-Friendly Ingredients Award in 2025. These achievements are a testament to the company’s commitment to reducing carbon emissions, minimizing waste and supporting sustainable agriculture.

On the governance front, the company has incorporated sustainability performance indicators into senior management evaluations to ensure effective strategy execution. WNC has published its first third-party-verified TCFD & TNFD report. Furthermore, a double materiality analysis has been implemented at the Mexico site, marking the completion of data verification and information disclosure across all sites. It hopes to lead its supply chain to jointly enhance climate governance capabilities, so it has deployed a comprehensive carbon management strategy, including incorporating EcoVadis and other international ratings into supplier performance evaluations, and successfully engaged high-emission suppliers to commit to SBTi reduction targets. In addition, WNC has conducted on-site supplier carbon audits and shared insights on sustainability practices and global trends, holding four multinational supplier conferences with suppliers to learn about sustainability skills and international trends. The company’s achievements include a 7.69% reduction in Scope 3 emissions in 2025, exceeding its annual target, while receiving an A rating for its supplier engagement questionnaire from CDP.

Sustainability transitions are a challenge that evolve over time, but WNC has chosen to proactively face the challenge. The company makes informed decisions based on carbon data, and has made knowledge sharing a key driver of its carbon reduction efforts. Through technological innovation and optimized energy efficiency, WNC continues to develop highly competitive green products and services. The goal is to achieve shared prosperity across the supply chain and create a better future for society.
