Quality Management System

WNC Quality Policy On-time delivery of defect-free and competitive products & services to our customers

Committed to quality excellence, WNC upholds “zero defects” as a long-term quality goal, strengthening quality across design, products, and services. Beyond meeting customer requirements, WNC strives to exceed expectations, build trusted long-term partnerships, and set an industry benchmark for quality.

In quality management, WNC follows international standards — including ISO 9001, IATF 16949, TL 9000, and ISO 13485 — according to product categories. Annual quality, service, and delivery targets are established and strategically deployed across the organization. Guided by the 3P principles — Prediction, Prevention, and Protection—WNC integrates advanced quality tools and systems into its development processes to build a high-performance quality management framework. WNC’s sites in Taiwan, China, and Vietnam have obtained ANSI/ESD S20.20 certification for electrostatic discharge control, while the Mexico site is progressing toward certification. These measures enhance product stability and reliability throughout manufacturing. In addition, the laboratories in HQ are ISO/IEC 17025 accredited, demonstrating strong testing and management capabilities and enabling precise, efficient product testing and validation services for customers.

Building a quality culture

All manufacturing sites implement Continuous Improvement Programs (CIP) covering Business Process Improvement (BPI), Total Customer Satisfaction (TCS), Six Sigma, and Waste Elimination (WE). Through analysis and workshops, potential risks are predicted, identified, and controlled to enhance quality, design, cost efficiency, and overall operational performance. To encourage employee participation, WNC provides incentives for approved proposals, including monetary rewards and recognition in the CIP Bimonthly Newsletter, fostering knowledge sharing and best-practice exchange. In 2025, a total of 333 CIP proposals from Taiwan, China, and Vietnam sites received cash rewards, totaling NT$900,807, while another 219 proposals remained in progress. The Mexico site also conducted four workshops to further strengthen its culture of continuous improvement.

In Six Sigma improvement projects, statistical quality management methods were applied to enhance design efficiency, ensure production stability, and reduce operational and quality risks. Projects widely apply quality control tools, including Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to anticipate process risks and TRIZ theory for systematic problem analysis and risk mitigation. Product regulations, such as RoHS and REACH, are also integrated into relevant processes to ensure effective risk management throughout new product development. Additionally, through methods such as Design of Experiments (DOE), Statistical Process Control (SPC), analysis of variance (ANOVA), hypothesis testing, and measurement system analysis, we verify improvement effectiveness and prevent recurrence of issues.

Education and Training

WNC is committed to quality management training. In 2025, 336 employees worldwide completed Six Sigma training, while 73 internal instructors received refresher training. In addition, 16 quality-related courses were delivered, covering process improvement and quality tools, audit systems, and product safety. A total of 4,897 employees completed the training, with total training hours reaching 16,596.

Intellectual property

In order to maintain the competitiveness of our innovations and safeguard stakeholder interests, WNC has stipulated Management Measures on the Control of Information Equipment and Protection of Documents, WNC Intellectual Property Rights Management Measures, and the General Guidelines on Rewards for Invention and Innovation, and has formulated other management procedures and regulations to protect trade secrets and confidential business information as well as policies on intellectual property rights management and utilization.

As of the end of 2025, WNC held 2,648 patents: 744 in the U.S., 1,129 in Taiwan, 672 in China, and 103 in other countries. WNC continues to hold the number one ranking in Taiwan for patents granted to network communications companies, as listed by the Taiwan Intellectual Property Office in their Top 100 Domestic Patent Applicants rankings list. Incentives are provided at different stages, from proposal, patent application, acquisition of patents, to licensing. In addition, WNC evaluates and selects the best patents every year, winners of which receive additional bonuses, medals and recognition at year-end parties. WNC also encourages employees to submit articles or papers to journals. In 2025, 222 applications for patents were submitted and 98% of them were invention patents. In the same year, WNC’s innovation achievements also received recognition through its first-ever Red Dot Award: Product Design, a consecutive win of the Innovative Product Award under the Hsinchu Science Park Outstanding Enterprise Awards, and the National Invention and Creation Award presented by the Taiwan Intellectual Property Office of the Ministry of Economic Affairs.
